Silicon celebrates the completion of 50 data centers across the country – Pakistan

KARACHI: Silicon Technologies (ST) – an institution committed to meeting the needs of information technology and industrial automation on Friday celebrated the completion of its 50 data centers across Pakistan.

The event was hosted here at a local hotel which saw a massive turnout from ST clients and IT pros.

Officials said ST has so far designed, established, reorganized and upgraded data centers for as many as 50 organizations, including International Textile Limited, Fauji Foundation, Gepco, JS Global, and more.

She has also completed a number of grid, power and security projects for various organizations such as Liberty Mills, IBA Sukkur, Atlas Engineering, State Bank of Pakistan, etc. They declared Vertiv to be ST’s strategic partner.

Mobeen ul Haq ST General Manager gave a presentation on ST Strategic Review and pledged to foster technological innovation and excellence for the benefit of the nation. He said customer satisfaction, integrity and transparency are the key factors in ST’s success.

Leading by the philosophy of the pursuit of excellence, he said Silicon Technologies plans to be an innovative player in IT infrastructure, consulting, integration and support in Pakistan.

Numair Zaheer Chief Business Officer at Silicon Technologies gave his welcome speech while Salman Raza Khan, Manager Data Center & Power Silicon Technologies gave a detailed presentation on the data center journey.

Adeel Naseer, CTO of Energenic, highlighted best practices in data centers. He said that controlling environmental contamination plays a vital role in the longevity of the equipment. Prompt replacement of consumables also plays a critical role in system performance and efficiency. Rodents and lizards are a real threat to your data center uptime, pest management is essential in this regard.

He asked IT organizations to always consider the worst case scenario and investigate the reason for failures / incidents in the industry. He asked them to make decisions based on the hourly cost of business downtime. “What you can’t measure, you can’t control,” he said.
