In her inaugural debut, the GPCA Woman of Excellence Award 2020 went to Shay Runion. As an active member of the GPCA and a past recipient of the 2016 Women of Excellence Award from the National Pest Management Association, Runion was the perfect fit for this prestigious award. She is a strong advocate for women in the pest control industry and has shown exceptional leadership, including establishing the Georgian chapter of Professional Women in Pest Management (PWIPM), previously serving on the board of directors of the GPCA, past president of the GPCA, as well as continue to serve in multiple capacities in the industry.
Arrow team member Brantley Russell, who currently serves as GPCA President for the 2020-2021 term, was presented with the President’s Award by former President Garry Adams. The President’s Award is presented to an individual who has assisted and supported the President of the GPCA during his tenure. Adams described Russell as âbalanced, very slow to anger, and a consummate professional for the organization. As Vice President, he has improved the association and is already skilfully leading it as President through the difficult times facing the country. ”
Alyson Gilleland received the Presidential Special Award. This award is given to an individual who has distinguished himself during the President’s tenure. Gilleland’s hard work, dedication and professionalism impacted Adams who said, âAlyson not only takes initiative, but also thinks outside the box. As co-chair of the GPCA Education Committee, she had the opportunity to bring her innovative ideas to help improve the organization and the industry as a whole.
